Privacy Policy for Rankests

Effective Date: October 24, 2026

At Rankests SEO Tools, accessible from https://rankests.com, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors and users. This Privacy Policy explains what information Rankests collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and how long we keep it.

1. Consent

By using our website, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

2. Information We Collect

The personal information you are asked to provide, and the reasons for asking, will be made clear at the point we ask for it.

  • Direct Contact: If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
  • Account Registration: When you register to save your SEO reports, we may ask for your name, email address, and website URL.
  • Google User Data: If you choose to connect your Google Analytics account, we access the data described in Section 3.

3. Google User Data

Rankests offers an optional integration with Google Analytics. This integration only works if you connect your Google account and grant permission.

What we access. We request the read-only scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/analytics.readonly. With your permission, this lets us view your Google Analytics account and property information and report data (for example, traffic, sessions, user counts, top pages, and traffic sources) for the properties you select. We cannot modify, create, or delete anything in your Google Analytics account.

How we use it. We use this data only to show analytics metrics next to your SEO reports and to provide the features you request within Rankests. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to build user profiles for any other purpose.

Limited Use disclosure. Rankests’ use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

  • We only use Google user data to provide or improve the user-facing features visible in Rankests.
  • We do not sell Google user data.
  • We do not use or transfer Google user data for serving advertisements, including retargeting or interest-based advertising.
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless we have your affirmative consent for specific data, it is necessary for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), it is necessary to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations.
  • We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

4. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade Google user data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for their own purposes. This includes our sister site Auditest, which does not receive Google user data from Rankests.

We disclose Google user data only in these limited cases:

  • Service providers: Trusted infrastructure providers (such as our hosting and database providers) process data on our behalf, solely to operate Rankests, under confidentiality and security obligations. They may not use the data for their own purposes.
  • Legal and security: When required by law, legal process, or a governmental request, or to detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • Business transfer: If Rankests is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, Google user data will only be transferred with your prior consent or as permitted by the Google API Services User Data Policy, and the recipient must honor this policy.
  • With your consent: Any other disclosure will happen only with your explicit consent.

5. How We Protect Your Data

We protect personal information and Google user data, including sensitive data, with these measures:

  • All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Google OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest [confirm: describe your actual method].
  • Access to production systems and databases is restricted to authorized personnel with a legitimate need, protected by strong authentication.
  • We request only the minimum, read-only permission needed for the features we offer.
  • We monitor our systems and apply security updates on a regular basis.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users and authorities as required by law if a breach occurs.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Google user data retention: We keep Google Analytics tokens and any cached analytics data only while your Rankests account is active and your Google account is connected. Cached analytics data is refreshed regularly and kept no longer than [30] days.
  • Disconnecting: You can disconnect Google Analytics at any time in your Rankests account settings [confirm location], or by revoking Rankests’ access at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. After you disconnect or revoke access, we stop accessing your Google data and delete stored tokens and cached Google data within [30] days.
  • Account deletion: If you delete your account or email us at contact@rankests.com, we delete your personal information and any Google user data within [30] days, except where we must keep certain records to comply with legal obligations.
  • Backups: Residual copies in encrypted backups are removed on a rolling schedule, within [90] days.

7. Log Files

Rankests uses standard log files. They record IP addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamps, and referring/exit pages. This data is not linked to personally identifiable information.

8. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain our SEO tools.
  • Improve and personalize your experience on Rankests.
  • Understand how you use our tools in order to develop new features.
  • Prevent fraud and ensure the security of our servers.

Google user data is used only as described in Section 3.

9. Google DoubleClick DART Cookie

Google is a third-party vendor on our site. It uses DART cookies to serve ads based on visits to rankests.com and other sites. You can decline DART cookies by visiting the Google ad and content network Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

10. Advertising Partners (Google AdSense)

Rankests uses Google AdSense to serve ads. Google’s advertising cookies enable it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to our site and other sites. You may opt out of personalized advertising at https://adssettings.google.com. This advertising relates only to site visits and cookies. It never uses data obtained through Google Analytics API access.

11. Digital Tools Network (Sister Sites)

Rankests links to and shares a management team with our sister site, Auditest (https://auditest.online). Auditest maintains its own privacy policy for its tool usage data. As stated in Section 4, we do not share Google user data with Auditest.

12. Your Rights (CCPA & GDPR)

Users in California (CCPA) and the European Union (GDPR) have the right to access, delete, correct, and port their personal information, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. We respond within one month.

13. Children’s Information

Rankests does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us such information, please contact us immediately and we will remove it.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date. Material changes affecting Google user data will be clearly noted.
